A solidarity conference with the five defendants in the kidnapping of the Palestinians was held today (Tuesday) in Kfar Yarka in the Western Galilee.

The affair was revealed last week with the filing of the indictments against them, along with five others arrested on suspicion of involvement in an incident indirectly related to the affair that has not yet been allowed to be published.

Among the speakers at the event were the former minister from the Likud Ayob Kara and the former MK from the Likud Petin Mola, a resident of Yerka.

Only a few dozen responded to the invitation of the Atallah family, whose son is among the arrested defendants, and to the proclamation of the local council, which called three times this morning for the residents to come to the people's house in the settlement and participate in the meeting which is intended to sympathize with the family, and to express a protest against the prosecution of the accused.

No one disputes the facts.

The speakers asked for mercy for the accused and the detainees who, according to them, were at that time in a storm of emotions, against the background of the abduction of the body of a member of the Druze tribe Tiran Peru from Dalit al Carmel.

"These children are heroes," Ayoob Kara argued before the gathering, "It is impossible that they sit in prisons for something so good that they did to the State of Israel... instead of applauding them, they put them in prisons. Anyone who decided to file an indictment against them should be ashamed ".

"Certainly this trial should be overturned," said Patin Mola, "we are against those who took the law into their own hands and are not at all satisfied with what happened and what happened, the whole family and the community condemned what happened, but we are calling for the boys to be released to house arrest. These are veterans and children Under the age of 18 who committed an act that was not intentional. There was outrage when the late Druze young man was kidnapped and they behaved inappropriately. We condemn it."

He expressed optimism and said that he is in contact with the authorities, "We have spoken with officials and the issue is under investigation, and I hope we will receive positive answers in the coming days."

Former Yerka local council member Sif Moadi, who participated in the event, said that "Tiran Pero's case is very unfortunate and hurt the dignity and feelings of the entire community.

We are in favor of a trial of law and justice, but these circumstances must be taken into account."

"The police made a big deal out of it. We don't understand it," wondered Yosef Atallah, the father of one of the arrested, "If it wasn't for the Tiran Pero thing, would we have touched anyone?"

We believe that there was no place to treat the case as we did, because of the uniqueness of the case," says Attorney Bassel Falah, the defense attorney for all the detainees.

"In our opinion, the Shin Bet should not have been involved either.

Even though criminal acts were allegedly committed, there was room to treat and behave differently and not to file an indictment for such serious offenses, and to write that it was supposedly acts of terrorism."
