More violence around Milan's central station, which has for some time been constantly at the center of crime by day and night, and where in the afternoon six passers-by were injured, one seriously, following four robberies carried out by a drunk man and armed with a pocketknife, described as a young North African, later arrested.

And perhaps it is thanks to the short blade of the pocketknife, of the multipurpose type, that the worst was avoided.

At first it seemed that there were two attackers, but the State Police believe that the blocked man only acted, at different times and places, sowing fear and havoc in a central area of the city and at rush hour, when the sidewalks they are full of people.

In the end, the balance is six people injured, one of whom is treated on the spot, while the other five were transported to the hospital, two of whom are in serious condition: a 57-year-old whose conditions are not worrying and a 68-year-old: no one would be in danger of life.

The most serious, the 68-year-old, in fact, would be a witness who intervened to defend a girl who was robbed while she was in the company of her boyfriend in Viale Brianza, at the exit of the front door.

According to what was reconstructed by the Flying Squad, the man, around 17.40, would have robbed a 39-year-old Italian woman in the Mortirolo underpass using a knife to rob her of her mobile phone.

Subsequently, in via Gluck, he allegedly robbed a Salvadoran citizen, taking her cell phone and ATM card.

Shortly thereafter, the criminal allegedly committed another robbery in via Sammartini, against a 34-year-old Spanish citizen, robbed of 20 euros and her cell phone.

Subsequently - again according to the accusations - the man would have committed the fourth robbery in Viale Brianza against a 24-year-old girl, whose credit cards he allegedly stole.

In this circumstance, three Italian citizens respectively 24 (her boyfriend who was with her), 68 and 57 years of age intervened to help her, who suffered various injuries.

The alleged robber then managed to flee along via Venini where he attempted one last robbery against a 44-year-old when he was stopped by the motorcyclist patrol of the State Police.

He did not resist and after being treated in his turn in the emergency room he was taken to prison to await interrogation.

On him, in addition to the bloody pocketknife, he was carrying the personal belongings of the woman robbed in Viale Brianza, as well as three cell phones.

"Shocking news from my Milan, where the Central Station area is confirmed to be at serious risk: only the heroic intervention of some citizens has avoided an even more dramatic balance", was the comment of the deputy prime minister and minister Matteo Salvini.
