The Minister of the Interior participated in the traditional ribbon-cutting with the Secretary of Agriculture, Juan José Bahillo, and the president of Banco Nación, Silvina Batakis. The mayor of San Nicolás, Manuel Passaglia, was also present.

The Minister of the Interior, Eduardo "Wado" de Pedro participated this Tuesday at noon in the traditional ribbon-cutting with which Expoagro opened, the exhibition organized by

Clarín

and La Nación, in San Nicolás.

De Pedro was accompanied by the Secretary of Agriculture of the national government,

Juan José Bahillo

;

and the president of Banco Nación,

Silvina Batakis

;

among others.

The only one who was out of place politically in that group of Kirchner leaders was the mayor of San Nicolás,

Manuel Passaglia

, from Juntos por el Cambio, who in any case was conversing kindly with the camporista minister De Pedro.

Also representing the organizers of the exhibition were the directors of

Clarín

and La Nación,

José Aranda

and

Fernán Saguier

, as well as those of Exponenciar,

Martín Schvartzman

and

Alberto Marina

.

After singing the national anthem, Minister De Pedro made an extensive one-hour tour, under a scorching sun, through different stands, in the company of Bahillo, Batakis and the Minister of Agrarian Development of the province of Buenos Aires, Javier Rodríguez

.

During their tour, the officials talked with the employees and producers

, at the stands of Pauni, Santiago del Estero, Banco Nación and Vialidad, among others, while some attendees approached to take selfies and others looked amazed at the large group of leaders, journalists and photographers who toured the agricultural fair.

There Batakis, former Minister of Economy and current head of Banco Nación, announced

new lines of credit

for agricultural producers;

while the secretary of Agroindustry asked him to take into account especially the poultry producers of Entre Ríos.

Wado de Pedro in the stand of the province of Santiago del Estero.

At the end of the tour, De Pedro gave a brief press conference, where he stated that

"the countryside is an essential part of the life of Argentines. It is necessary to unite Peronism with the countryside again."

He also recounted the agreements signed with seven provinces and the main water company in Israel, with the aim of having a "national water plan", in the face of severe drought and climate change.

"The reality of the towns is linked to production. If we link the countryside with the entities, we lose the diversity that the countryside has in each of the country's regions. I ask that a very ideological vision does not generate a false division, that there is not.

The countryside is an essential part of the life of Argentines

, of the life of the peoples. Do not enter into false dichotomies. And if it ever existed, agree on what the productive matrix is and not put it into discussion, but trying to work for a federal Argentina that generates roots in order to boost regional economies," said De Pedro.

And he added:

"The government and the Minister of Economy are making a great effort to stabilize the economy.

It is the third year of a very strong drought. I am a producer and it is the first time that I have planted corn and I see the mottled leaves, which A phenomenon like this happens, that 20% of what always comes out of the moha roll, the alfalfas don't throw away," said De Pedro, whose family produces in the Buenos Aires town of Mercedes.

Consulted by

his presidential candidacy,

the minister stated that he always conceived "militancy and politics collectively, so what my colleagues say, in the space that is best. I never conceived of politics as something personal. I always put my body I put the body in 2001, in the 90s, so I have no problem being part of the collective project from the place that touches me".

Unlike last year, this time neither the governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, nor his Minister of Security, Sergio Berni

, attended the inauguration ceremony,

with whom they toured the stands, along with Minister De Pedro .

On that occasion, De Pedro told

Clarín

an anecdote related to the Pauni company.

"The owners told me there that they were about to merge, at the beginning of 2000. They went to an act where Néstor Kirchner was, they left him an envelope with a note. And the next day Néstor Kirchner called them, received them at Casa Rosada and gave them financing. At that time, the Pauni tractor factory had 50 employees and today 800," De Pedro said on that occasion

.

And today the minister returned to visit the Pauni stand, to reinforce that link that emerged with former president Néstor Kirchner.

Also present at the opening ceremony, this Tuesday at noon, were

José Ignacio de Mendiguren

, Secretary of Industry and Productive Development;

and

José Neme

, Secretary of Development Planning and Federal Competitiveness, among other national government officials.

Beyond the occasional speeches,

Kirchnerism showed a strong presence at Expoagro

, in line with the dinner that was held last night, where Secretary Bahillo and former Minister Batakis also participated, who spent the night in San Nicolás, together with the Corrientes governor, Gustavo Valdés (UCR, in Together for Change).

It is expected that as the largest sample of agribusiness in the region develops,

 several opposition leaders

such as Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, Patricia Bullrich and María Eugenia Vidal, among others, will begin to arrive, as well as the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa.
