The Femina Prize announces the appointment of three new jurors:
Jeanne Benameur
, Brigitte Giraud,
Julie Wolkenstein
," he said in a statement.
All three are writers, as is the tradition of this exclusively female literary jury, created in 1904 to promote authors unfairly ignored by Goncourt.
This jury had only nine members, against 12 provided for in its statutes, for the awarding of its prizes in 2022 to Claudie Hunziger (French novel), Rachel Cusk (foreign novel) and Annette Wieviorka (essay).

The president is Évelyne Bloch-Dano and the vice-president Paula Jacques.
Goncourt and Femina once experienced a rivalry that culminated in the awarding of the 1999 and 2003 Goncourt prizes, ahead of schedule.
“

”, had commented the second time the president of Femina Régine Deforges.
Since then, relations have improved and the two juries respect the alternation which provides for each in turn to award its prize first, at the end of October or the beginning of November.
Le Goncourt also strives to feminize its jury, traditionally dominated by men.
After the departure in December of Patrick Rambaud, Christine Angot joined him in February to bring the number of women to four out of ten jurors.
