Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siarto criticized the Western countries' continued sending of weapons to Ukraine, stressing that the longer the war lasts, the more people will die and the destruction will increase.
"The United States and the European Union are competing with each other over who can send more weapons to Ukraine, which means that the Euro-Atlantic community is now suffering from a kind of militaristic psychosis and sterile competition," Siarto was quoted as saying by TASS news agency.
Carto pointed out that this competition comes while the armed conflict is taking place in Europe, which feels all its negative consequences, considering that there can be no winners in this war, but only losers.
He stressed that the Hungarian government considers that the only correct way to resolve the conflict in Ukraine is a cease-fire and peace negotiations, pointing out that “imposing more sanctions that harm Europe more than it does to Russia or continuing to supply Ukraine with weapons will not lead to a settlement of the situation, and therefore no Human lives can only be saved with peace.”
