The United States announced Tuesday, March 7 to grant a new aid of 26 million dollars in humanitarian aid to Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh and in the region.

This new funding will enable our humanitarian partners to continue to save lives and provide assistance to affected communities on both sides of the border in Myanmar and Bangladesh
," said State Department spokesman Ned Price.
He pointed out that this new aid brings the total humanitarian assistance that the United States has provided to the Rohingyas since August 2017 to $2.1 billion. There are an estimated one million Rohingyas living in overcrowded camps in Bangladesh. after having fled the persecutions in Burma against this community of Muslim faith, causing one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world.

These refugees live in precarious conditions and depend on international aid.
The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) recently announced a reduction in food rations in March due to a lack of funding.
