Who is 'El Salteño', the narco who manages the sale of drugs in the Rosario neighborhood where a boy was killed

2023-03-07T17:24:49.739Z

Carlos Cristian Villazón (25) has been imprisoned for almost three years in the Piñero prison for a triple homicide.

During the town that the crime of Máximo Jerez (12) generated in Rosario, several residents of the Los Pumitas neighborhood blamed "Salteño" and the drug traffickers for the murder.

Although they thus identified the man detained in one of the houses they attacked, the nickname refers to a prisoner already convicted of a triple homicide committed less than four blocks from there.

Carlos Cristian Villazón (25) is about to serve three years in jail

.

He is currently housed in Penitentiary Unit 11 in Piñero.

As has already been seen in other cases, the prolonged confinement does not prevent him from being suspected as the leader of a gang dedicated to the sale of drugs in the northwest of the city.

Prosecutor Adrián Spelta believes that his gang was the recipient of the shooting attack perpetrated last Sunday on Cabal at 1300 bis.

The bullets did not hit the criminals, but rather a group of children

who live in the same area and were eating on the sidewalk to find some relief from the heat wave.

The hypothesis of a drug dispute is firm and there are concrete indications of the groups that are leading it.

In this context, the judicial official emphasized that the attackers opened fire indiscriminately throughout the block.

When reviewing the testimonies collected, he stressed that there were "many more" children at the crime scene.

The houses destroyed and looted after the death of Máximo were pointed out as part of the criminal structure set up by "El Salteño".

Outside one of those houses, the young woman who lived there with her husband said that

she had been renting it for 25,000 pesos for two months

.

Meanwhile, other people took Carolina's things amid the wave of violence.

Previously, the Police arrested a man who fired into the air from the top floor of one of the destroyed properties in the town, which is not "El Salteño" as reported by some media.

In the tense operation, two women were arrested and the gun was seized while the neighbors complained passionately about their actions as a way to protect the criminals.

Judicial sources confirmed that the three people were detained.

In the first instance, the Prosecutor's Office did not detect any connection with the crime in Jerez.

However, this Wednesday they will be summoned to a public hearing to charge them with "

illegal possession of a firearm, coercive threats and home violation

.

"

Those who live in Los Pumitas, the northern sector of Empalme Graneros, pointed out that the usurped houses belong to the "Salteño" gang.

However, they do not work like the bunkers that proliferate in other Rosario neighborhoods.

The drug traffickers go out to sell the drug on the street instead of staying locked up to wait for the clients.

Villazón does not have that freedom to move in the city.

On March 12, 2020,

he was arrested for a triple murder in Genoa and Cabal

.

Prosecutor Marisol Fabbro requested his capture for the death of a young couple and her drink.

Since then he has been behind bars.

One of the victims of that attack was Christofer Nahuel Albornoz (21), whose father was serving house arrest in a drug trafficking case and was convicted in 2022. Months after the federal ruling, "El Salteño" pleaded guilty as co-perpetrator of the homicide.

Through an abbreviated procedure, the young man denounced for the fatal shooting in Empalme Graneros agreed to a

sentence of 15 years in effective prison

.

Although the Justice confirmed that he acted together with three accomplices who had 9-millimeter caliber weapons, so far no other accused persons have been reported.

In the three years that have passed since the death of the son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter of Miguel "Caracú" Albornoz, Los Pumitas has never been on the sidelines of the battle for control of the drug business.

This weekend,

the death of the child belonging to the Qom community generated an unusual outburst

and sowed uncertainty about the path to guarantee peace and security once and for all.
