Without hype or leaders: the 'empty' to Alberto Fernández in an act in Mar del Plata

2023-03-07T22:36:49.075Z

The President led the inauguration of a technological institute with the sole company of Gabriela Cerruti and Daniel Filmus. No representatives of the FdT participated and there was no presence of militants.

It was almost as if he had come unannounced, as if he had decided to drop in out of the blue.

Because

he was not welcomed

, the councilors of the Justicialista Party that he himself chairs did not even go to wait for him.

Despite the fact that the inauguration of a technological institute was announced almost a week ago, the incursion of President

 Alberto Fernández

this Tuesday in Mar del Plata lacked any political party support.

No drums, no march

.

The only reception for the President was given by

a handful of protesters

at the access to the brand new Intema (National Institute of Materials Technology), where

noisy environmentalists

appeared expressing themselves against oil exploration, members of the

Teresa Rodríguez

Movement and a sector of

university professors demanding for wages.

So much noise began to be made by the diverse group of protesters on Colón Avenue that when the helicopter landed with Fernández (and the only company he had at the event, that of his spokeswoman Gabriela Cerruti and the Minister of Science and Innovation, Daniel Filmus)

they decided to change the scene of the act

.

It was no longer

done outdoors, in the Parque del Intema

, where platforms and screens had been arranged.

At the time the President arrived, after noon, the sunny day was spectacular.

Very hot, but

it was more inside the room of the building without air conditioning,

where the act finally moved.

During the event, Alberto Fernández was accompanied by authorities from the National University of Mar del Plata, its rector Alfredo Lazzaretti, and the director of Intema and Conicet Mar del Plata, Guillermo Eliçabe, as well as representatives of Inta and Inti, and industrialists from private sphere.

Of party politics, no presence.

There were no local, provincial or national legislators, unlike the act that the president led in the first week of last January, also in this city, where he was accompanied by several members of his cabinet and who officiated as hostess was the executive director of Anses and referent of La Cámpora,

Fernanda Raverta

, who this year will once again compete for the mayor of Mar del Plata.

This Tuesday the photo was not repeated.

Fernanda Raverta, the head of ANSES and a reference for Cristina Kirchner from Mar del Plata, this time did not accompany the President's visit, as she did last January.

The new headquarters of the Intema received an investment of more than 4 billion pesos from the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (Conicet) and $988 million from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Nation.

Fernandez toured the facility.

He later recounted that Intema has "two tremendous microscopes" and warned that it had been ordered to buy this equipment in 2015 "but someone ordered never to pay for them and never to bring them."

"There is nothing that makes me happier than continuing to bet on public education and scientific and technological development, because that is the future of Argentina. The best societies are those that give opportunities to everyone," Fernández stressed in his speech.

And he urged "to stop concentrating science and technology in the center of the country and make it available to the rest of the Homeland so that we can all develop."

From there, the head of state departed by helicopter to the

presidential residence of Chapadmalal

, where he had planned another inauguration, that of the Evita Beach Games and, perhaps, receive a visit from the locals, who were conspicuous by their absence in the welcome .
