A false emergency call led the fire brigade and BRK to Marshal late Tuesday evening.

However, the alleged "gas explosion" was invented.

Police are now looking for the person who made the call to 911.

Holzkirchen

– 40 rescue workers moved out, even a turntable ladder was extended, an apartment door opened: An alleged “gas explosion” in the Marschall district of Holzkirchen late on Tuesday evening (March 7) turned out to be an apparently deliberate misleading, triggered via the Nora app, the official emergency call app of the federal states.

The Holzkirchner police have started investigations into the person who misused the emergency call.

According to the police in Holzkirchen, the Nora app reported a gas explosion around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, and the rescue workers, who were immediately alerted, rushed to the multi-party house that had been called to Marshal.

"But there was nobody there, no fire and no person," reports Holzkirchen's fire brigade commander Ludwig Würmseer.

Since the alarm was about a room fire and "person in danger", the Holzkirchner fire brigade used its turntable ladder to knock on the window of the top floor apartment via the balcony.

"We could not detect any smoke or burning smell," says Würmseer.

At the request of the police, the fire brigade finally opened the apartment door - without damaging the door, as operations manager Würmseer emphasizes.

There was nobody at home.

"A possible gas leak or a gas explosion could be ruled out on site," says the Holzkirchner police press report.

The active members of the Holzkirchner and Föchinger fire brigades withdrew again.

"There was nothing apart from expenses," sums up Würmseer, "annoying, but that's part of our business."

The police, however, do not simply close down the night's operation in Marschall.

According to the press report, criminal investigations have been launched into the person who made the emergency call.

Anyone who intentionally or knowingly misuses emergency calls or emergency signals or fakes an emergency that requires the help of others is threatened with a fine or imprisonment according to the Criminal Code (§ 145).
