Éric Dupond-Moretti's arm of honor: "We have to hold each other", says Olivier Véran

The Minister of Justice, who got carried away during the session in the Assembly, presented his "apologies" and "regrets" his gesture.

It didn't take more than half an hour before the session turned into chaos.

While the deputies were examining the bill on the establishment of a penalty of ineligibility in the event of domestic violence, the Minister of Justice, Éric Dupond-Moretti, got carried away, and sent two arms of honor to the president of the LR group, Olivier Marleix.

At the podium, the latter had just recalled the "

indictment for illegal taking of interests

" of the Keeper of the Seals.

After several suspensions of the session, Éric Dupond-Moretti finally presented his "

apologies

", ensuring "

regret

" his gesture.

Invited to RTL this morning, government spokesperson Olivier Véran felt that Éric Dupond-Moretti is a “

whole man

”, a “

man of honor who fights for the rights of victims and who recognizes the freedom to be able to defend themselves, and in particular, to defend the presumption of innocence

".

It must be said that this gesture by the Minister of Justice is particularly embarrassing for the presidential camp: firstly, because it took place during a session where the subject of the "exemplary nature" of parliamentarians was at

the

heart discussions.

And then, because in recent weeks, the Macronist troops have constantly called for the proper conduct of the debates within the Hemicycle and to regret the "zadification" of Parliament.

"

That's why we have to be absolutely exemplary

," insisted Olivier Véran this morning.

We have to behave, we have to behave even better in the context of a public debate than in everyday life.
