A 24-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday morning in Paris and placed in police custody as part of an investigation for "
intentional homicide
" relating to the discovery on Saturday of the lifeless body of a student, learned the AFP with the Paris prosecutor's office.
The body of Valentin F., 21, was found Saturday afternoon in his apartment in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, while the student had not answered calls since Thursday, according to a source familiar with the matter.
Traces of blood
From the same source, the local police officers noted on their arrival on the spot traces of blood on the front door of the apartment, which showed no trace of a break-in.
Inside, they said they found several broken items and a large amount of blood on the floor.
According to the first elements of the investigation of which AFP was aware, a hooded person was seen on CCTV cameras heading towards the victim's home.
The Criminal Brigade is in charge of the investigation entrusted by the Paris prosecutor's office.
