Schongau - "If we don't raise our voices now, we won't have a hospital in a year." It was Gregor Schuppe who led the information event of the action alliance "Pro Hospital Schongau" on Monday.

Klaus Emmerich: "Level 1i is not a hospital, it is nothing more than organized short-term care"
At the beginning, Klaus Emmerich, former clinic manager and now a member of the "Bündnis Klinikrettung" made it clear by video message that the direction proposed by the hospital GmbH, to continue operating the Schongauer Klinikum with a maximum of level 1i, was not an option: "What is coming now is even worse as a central hospital.
Level 1i is not a hospital, it is nothing more than organized short-term care.”
Imanuel Neuwirth paints bleak future prospects for the emergency care of all citizens
Imanuel Neuwirth, orthopedist and trauma surgeon from Schongau, took the same line.
The local clinic would then no longer be available to external patients.

"We can't put up with that," said Hörner.
Whether Stefan Konrad, Walter Popp or Regina Haugg - all members of the action alliance agreed: the will expressed through the citizens' initiative across the district should not simply be disregarded.
There are suspicions that the threatened downsizing or even closure of the Schongau clinic had been prepared for a long time.
"Where does this abysmal aversion to the Schongau location come from, and why is the supervisory board fighting tooth and nail against a main location for a hospital in Schongau?" Popp wanted to know.

Mayor Falk Sluyterman also explained again that he had not received an answer to his most recent letter to District Administrator Andrea Jochner-Weiss.

Gregor Schuppe dismissed the approximately 100 listeners with the request to become active and to use all contacts and networks.
He wished for just as much success as with the resistance against the road expansion contribution statute - even then "the feeling of total injustice" was the driving force.
"Now the hut has to burn, we need demonstrations and attention to preserve the Schongau location," says Schuppe.
Postcard campaign:
The action alliance has started a postcard campaign under the motto "Bid-before date of referendum longer than 12 months".
As many citizens as possible should send cards to district councils or federal politicians.
Postcards are available in Schongau shops.
A human chain around the hospital is also planned, a date for this has yet to be announced.
