After being evicted from Frogmore Cottage, King Charles shakes hands with his youngest son, Prince Harry, with an invitation to the coronation and an offer of housing.

London – It was tantamount to being thrown out of the British Kingdom when Prince Harry (38) and Meghan Markle (41) now had to confirm that King Charles III.

(74) that Frogmore Cottage – her safe home port in Great Britain – had passed on to Prince Andrew (63).

The Sussexes could only register with sheer bewilderment that the sacking was a direct acknowledgment of Prince Harry's critical memoir "Spare".

Apparently, even King Charles does not like the suspicion that he may have acted out of base revenge motives.

As can now be heard from palace circles, the monarch has come up with a solution to Harry's acute housing problem on the island.

With his new offer, King Charles saves his reputation as a monarch and as a father

Just in time for the long-pending invitation to the coronation, the news also leaked out that King Charles had reserved an apartment in Buckingham Palace for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The waves were high, recently the expert opinions had piled up, which had branded the expulsion as an "unworthy" measure and "brutal".

Mixing it up with the issue raised by the disgraced Prince Andrew was also perceived as "extremely undiplomatic".

That's not all: the ball is now in the Sussexes' field, who have to respond to the invitation.

To date, however, it is unclear whether and in what constellation Prince Harry and his family will arrive and use the apartment offer.

The royal source said: "His Majesty does not want the Sussexes to be left without a base in the UK.

He is also angry, as is Prince William (40).

But the king is not a bad man.

He doesn't want his brother Andrew to be left homeless or destitute."

How long do Harry and Meghan have to vacate Frogmore Cottage?

According to Omid Scobie, citing a source, Harry and Meghan "have until early summer to move out."

The source continues: “They were originally only given weeks, but now they have at least until after the coronation.

(Whether the couple will attend the coronation is yet to be determined.)

"The decision about the Sussexes' house is a clear sign of how tense the relationship between the king and his son is," the British journalist assesses the situation.

He says: "Given the timing of the news, it's hard not to see it as a reaction to his son's tell-all literary story, which is said to have driven the monarch 'insane'".

According to Scobie, a friend of Meghan and Harry said: "It all feels very final and like a cruel punishment," says a friend of the couple.

"It's as if [the Royal Family] wants them out of the picture forever."

King Charles is now acting as diplomatically as Queen Elizabeth II did before.

Relations between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family are said to have become increasingly strained in recent years as both Harry and Meghan have publicly attacked the monarchy.

As well as criticizing the institution, Harry has published intimate personal conversations between himself and his brother, his wife or his father in his memoir, Spare, which was published earlier this year.

Charles then evicted Harry and Meghan from Frogmore Cottage, which is on the grounds of the Windsor estate, and offered Andrew the key.

Now the diplomatic somersault is backwards: Because, ironically, it is said that Harry and Meghan are said to have been offered Prince Andrew's apartment in Buckingham Palace.

Participation in the coronation would thus be decoupled from the housing shortage.

The critics who said Queen Elizabeth II (96, † 2022) would never have made such a decision have been silenced.

It's now up to the Sussexes to split up and celebrate Archie's 4th birthday on May 6th with or the coronation.
