The President's House clarified this evening (Wednesday) that they were surprised by Friedman-Albshan's outline and said that they had nothing to do with it.
The outline is acceptable to Justice Minister Yariv Levin, who earlier today met with its drafters together with the chair of the Constitutional Committee Simcha Rothman.
The outline created a debate around it, as its opponents argued that it does not sufficiently protect the basic laws and castrates judicial review. In contrast, Levin and The Constitutional Commission's R. Simcha Rothman received it positively, and Levin even claimed that it was the "first out-of-the-box" outline.
The drafters of the outline are Major General Giora Island, Professors Daniel Friedman and Yuval Albashan and Dr. Giora Yaron.
