Since Tuesday and for a few days, the Nantes University Hospital has indicated that "
access to pediatric emergencies is only possible with prior regulation from Samu - Center 15
".
In a press release, the establishment explains that due to the concomitant absence of nursing staff, the internal organization is adapted in order to “
guarantee the appropriate care of children
”.
The hospital also recalls the alternative solutions if the children do not show serious symptoms, namely contacting their doctor, a liberal pediatrician or SOS doctor in Nantes (02 40 50 30 30).

If in doubt, do not hesitate to contact the Samu (15) or 116-117 who can direct you to the contact person best suited to your situation

14 sick leaves
On Tuesday, the CHU recorded "
7 short-term sick leave of nurses and 7 short-term sick leave of childcare auxiliaries, spread over the morning and afternoon teams"
.
A month ago, the hospital had already experienced a wave of sick leaves in the adult emergency department.
Some services had to close, like the waiting and diagnostic area.
Patients were then sent to neighboring establishments.
The caregivers said they were exhausted and had taken this action in particular to denounce the deterioration of their working conditions.
