Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took off today (Thursday) from Jerusalem to Israel in a helicopter, from where he will fly to a political meeting in Rome. This is due to the protesters who blocked the entrance to the airport, in an attempt to disrupt traffic between the terminals. Netanyahu will take off from the runway at the Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital, along with troops Security is stepped up.

While dozens of protesters were at the Hadassah airstrip, the Prime Minister's helicopter took off - in the absence of the Netanyahu couple, which was apparently carried out as a deception operation.

Netanyahu and his wife took off in another helicopter.

Police forces will be reinforced in the airport area, among other things at the entrance checkpoints, where police officers have been attached to airport authority security guards.

In Rome, where Netanyahu flew to meet Prime Minister Georgia Maloney, a demonstration of Jews and Israelis is expected to take place.

The organizers of the demonstration said that it was intended "to raise awareness among Italian public opinion and Italian institutions of the anti-democratic drift of the current far-right government in Israel, which is trying to limit the power of justice through reforming the judicial system."

Finally, it was decided that Netanyahu would travel on a narrower plane, owned by El Al.
