Insecurity, inflation, poverty: harsh survey on the inefficiency of the State in the country

2023-03-09T16:29:12.714Z

The study was commissioned by a foundation that works on the subject. The results were compelling.

The images toured the city of Rosario, the province of Santa Fe, good in Argentina.

They also reached other countries around the world.

In the midst of the drug crisis, the murder (another) of an 11-year-old boy unleashed a "poblada" of the neighbors, who destroyed an alleged bunker for the sale of drugs linked to the crime.

They looted it by the way.

The police forces present only dared to intervene spasmodically

.

Few recent sequences have made the absence and ineffectiveness of the State so clear.

Clarín summed it up well: "Rosario, God willing

. "

The deepening of the social, economic and insecurity crisis in Rosario

reopened the debate on the role of states

, at different levels, as a mechanism to solve people's problems.

And a new survey from a foundation that is dedicated precisely to the study of these issues is devastating.

The poll that

Clarín

accessed this Thursday is from the

Espacio Políticos Civil Association

.

It is presented as follows: "We are an institution created in 1999 with the purpose of creating a space for analysis and implementation in public organizations at different levels. Professionals linked to administration, public policies, innovation are part of our association and new technologies for organizations".

What do people demand from the state?

The survey included

1,133 interviews throughout the country

(online and face-to-face).

Results were presented with +/- 3.2% margin of error.

The report has 23 pages and several alerts.

First, the priorities that the State should attend to are consulted, and in line with the numbers reflected in other studies,

inflation is cut first, with 44.6%

.

They are followed, by far,

by corruption (17.5%), poverty (14.6%) and insecurity (13%)

.

"Incapable and not very transparent State"

After establishing the main demands of the people to be resolved by the State,

forceful definitions

expert look

Maximiliano Campos Ríos

has a degree in Political Science from the University of Buenos Aires and a Master's in Administration and Public Policy from the University of San Andrés (UdeSA).

He worked for 25 years in public bodies.

His last experience there was during the Cambiemos government.

He is currently the

visible face of the association

and was in charge of the survey design.

Among other things, he explains that he faced the exhibition due to the public controversy over the role of the State, especially with a government whose slogan is "the present State."

For Campos Ríos, the results show just the opposite, with almost no distinctions between regions or social classes.

It is what

would explain, to a large extent, the phenomenon of Javier Milei

, as a magnet for those disenchanted.

"Two out of three people believe that the State is not performing correctly in any of the areas and 84% do not trust the State at a general level," said the expert and concluded that "this shows that the current discussion has nothing to do

with with the size of the State, but with its capacity to solve problems"

.
