The president of the socialist group in the Senate deplores the use of article 38, demanded by the right, which makes it possible to accelerate the discussions.

Article 47-1 of the Constitution, decried by the opposition in the National Assembly, now succeeds Article 38 of the Senate regulations.

Tuesday evening, the latter was used within the Hemicycle after being claimed by Senator Bruno Retailleau, followed by his LR group and the centrists.

The article has the advantage of accelerating the discussions on an article or an amendment by framing the interventions, after the expression of two contrary opinions.

"Shame on you!"

, had then deplored the president of the socialist group in the Senate, Patrick Kanner.

“You gag your opposition.

Rule 38 has never been used, unless I am mistaken, in the Hemicycle.

(…) You brandish it because you are incapable of defending your arguments.

You went to bed.
