2023-03-10T17:10:52.335Z

Relatives and neighbors of the boy murdered in a drug attack held a march: "We don't want more dead boys."

The

face of Máximo Jerez

is multiplied in dozens of photos.

Also, in the memory and in the love of those who walk through the center of Rosario to demand justice for him, for his death.

Clarifying the behind the scenes of the

homicide of the 11-year-old boy

, which occurred on Sunday morning in the context of a

fight between drug traffickers

, condemning those responsible, is part of what his relatives, his friends from the club, social organizations, neighbors are demanding.

But that's not all:

they want peace, security, to stop the wave of homicides

that is punishing the city.

Let there be no other case like Máximo's.

In Greater Rosario, in 2022,

33 homicides of minors

were registered .

This year there are already four.

The march united the municipality with the local headquarters of the Interior.

It was led, symbolically and powerfully,

by teammates from the Los Pumas club

, where the murdered little boy from Empalme Graneros played.

They all wore the

team's blue and white shirt

and carried a photo in which Máximo was in that same uniform, his face serious, concentrated, ready to go out and play a soccer game.

A little boy wore, like a banner, the little blue shorts, with the number 11, that Máximo used.

"Maximum present", the relatives shouted while the protesters responded with a "justice, justice".

The people of the Los Pumitas neighborhood were accompanied by social, union and political organizations.

Also by relatives of victims of other crimes that occurred in Rosario that this year

already add up to 64

.

The teammates from the club where he played marched in his clothing.

"Enough of killing.

The original peoples demand justice for Maxi”, read a parade that was carried in front of the march.

There was also a flag of the Qom community, with a strong presence in Los Pumitas.

"Justice for Maxi" or "Enough of killing our students"

, could be read on some posters carried by representatives of the teachers' union.

Antonia, the aunt of the murdered minor, explained that the objective of the mobilization "is only to ask for justice."

Everyone avoided

talking about the town on Monday

, where the residents sought to avenge the death of the child, the attack and destruction of the drug bunkers, the drug disputes that took place in the neighborhood and the threats they received after the revolt.

"We don't want to know anything more about that," the woman clarified.

The case has, so far,

five people arrested

who will initially be charged next Tuesday.

Two brothers could be identified as part of the group of hit men who were driving a black Honda Civic from which they fired, early Sunday morning, at 1300 bis Cabal Street.

In addition to fatally injuring Máximo, they caused

injuries to three other children, ages 2 and 13

, who are recovering in a hospital.

Three other detainees, who had the car hidden in a home in Campodónico at 3200, also continue to be detained and could be accused of

concealing

.

There is a line of investigation that links the five detainees, due to their family ties, with two detainees in the Piñero prison.

Those two inmates were convicted of another homicide, that of a 14-year-old girl.

Prosecutor Adrián Spelta is working to establish whether

the order to attack a drug gang known as "Los Salteños" came from jail

.

Another young man, who recorded a video with a mask on to hide his face and a gun in hand to intimidate the neighbors,

was identified yesterday and remains a fugitive

.

He is 19 years old and threatened those who participated on Monday in La Puebla against the drug traffickers.

Before the march began, the mayor of Rosario, Pablo Javkin, received the aunt of the murdered minor.

After noon the formal ceremony began in front of the government.

The relatives and neighbors of Máximo marched from the Municipality to the local headquarters of the Government.

He was shot.

He is innocent.

He has nothing to do with this violence.

Let's not shut up.

Let's go out and ask for justice.

Let's not show fear.

We have to stand up for our loved ones.

I wonder: does the one who killed my nephew have children?

If you were in our place, wouldn't your heart ache if a child was taken from you?

We don't want any more dead boys.

We don't want more Máximo

, ”Antonia wondered.

The boy's father was in front of the column.

He had teary eyes.

"Let justice be done

," demanded Julio.

The mother remained in her house, overwhelmed by pain.

"She is devastated," summed up her husband.

At the end of the act, hugs multiplied, words of encouragement, the tears of some.

In the background the chords of the Argentine National Anthem played by Charly García sounded.

Rosary beads.
