More than 3.2 million Calico Critters brand toys are being recalled due to
choking hazards for children
, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Epoch Everlasting Play, the company, reported Thursday. manufacturer, based in Pine Brook, New Jersey.
Federal authorities and the company asked families and businesses to return “all animal figures and sets sold as baby bottle and pacifier accessories” after “three pacifier accessory-related incidents, including two deaths,” from a 2-year-old boy in 2018 in New Mexico and another 9-month-old in 2015 in Japan, of which they did not provide further details.
Some of the recalled Calico Critters products: a yellow baby bottle, a pink pacifier;
next to the figures of animals with which they came.
Most of the toys, made in China, were sold in Walmart and Meijer shopping malls, on Amazon and on the company's website between 2000 and 2021, ranging in price from $10 to $80.
The baby bottle accessories were marketed in yellow, pink, blue and orange colors.
One of the bottles also has a particular design with two yellow handles.
The pacifier accessories were sold in colors of yellow, orange, pink, dark pink, blue, and teal.
On the commission's website there is a list of codes for the withdrawn products to identify them more precisely.

“If you have bottles and pacifiers that have been requested to be recalled, immediately take them away from children,” the company said in a statement.
Families are encouraged to contact Epoch Everlasting Play LLC for instructions on submitting a photo of the recalled bottle and/or pacifier along with contact information and confirmation of destruction to receive a free replacement accessory.
