A judicial investigation was opened Friday for assassination after the discovery of the lifeless body of a student last Saturday in Paris and a suspect was hospitalized, indicated a judicial source.
This suspect, a 24-year-old man, was arrested at his Parisian home on Wednesday and then placed in police custody before being taken Thursday morning to the psychiatric infirmary of the police headquarters, the I3P.
He has since been hospitalized, the judicial source said, without giving details.
The prosecution, which had opened an investigation for intentional homicide after the discovery of the lifeless body of Valentin F., reclassified the facts as assassination when opening a judicial investigation on Friday, she said.

The 21-year-old student, who had not answered calls for two days, was found dead on Saturday afternoon in his apartment in the 16th arrondissement, according to a source familiar with the matter.
From the same source, the local police officers noted on their arrival on the spot traces of blood on the front door of the apartment, which showed no trace of a break-in.
