Millionaire condemns Independiente: Hugo Moyano did not pay the union contributions of the club's workers

2023-03-10T01:16:37.306Z

The management of the trucker in El Rojo left a debt of more than $84 million for contributions to the social work and the Utedyc union. Justice ordered the current administration to cancel part of the debt.

Hugo Moyano

has always made a cult of being one of the trade unionists most committed to the defense of workers' rights.

From the leadership of

the Truckers

, he led innumerable conflicts for wage increases and many others to demand that companies pay contributions to his union.

However, that rhetoric was the opposite of being fulfilled when he had to be on the other side of the table: his management at the head of

Independiente

left a

debt of more than 84 million pesos in union contributions and to the social work

of the 500 workers of the Avellaneda club.

Precisely for a part of that millionaire debt

Independent was sentenced by Justice

.

This Thursday, a ruling by the Federal Court of the 1st Civil, Commercial and Administrative Litigation Court of Quilmes ordered the current administration of the club, headed by Fabián Doman, to

pay

almost

$13 million to the Union of Workers of Sports and Civil Entities (Utedyc )

, the union that represents the Independiente staff, due to

non-payment of union contributions

.

The ruling in question involves the debt of contributions accumulated between February and December 2021, but other processes are also being processed in the Justice in which Utedyc claims for non-payment of contributions by union members during the years 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022, as entrusted to

Clarín

from the legal representation of Independiente, in the hands of Maximiliano Walker.

In total, the debt

from union contributions alone amounts to $69 million

.

Additionally, the authorities of Utedyc

demanded from the club the payment of $15,021,426.71 for the contributions to the social work

of the union (Ospedyc) that also stopped paying the management of Moyano in front of the "Red".

The claim corresponds to contributions that were not made between February 2015 and the end of 2022 when the head of the Truckers ended his management at the Avellaneda club.

In this case, the debt did not go to court and the current leadership of Doman

agreed to a payment plan with the union

in order to avoid the interruption of the medical services of the club's workers.

The lack of payment of the union contributions and the social work of the personnel is

only a part of the millionaire debt that Moyano left in Independiente

.

This same week, Doman's management published the total list of debts that the club has from the previous administration.

According to that report, there are at least 27 commitments that in total round about 20 million dollars and include non-payment of salaries to soccer players, coaches, debts with representatives, other clubs and various open lawsuits.

In the union world and also among the Independiente workers, they did not overlook

the paradox

that means that precisely the management of a trade unionist at the head of the club has culminated in millions in debts due to the non-payment of contributions to the social work and to the union that represents the staff.

Even when this type of lawsuit, with noisy conflicts, strikes and controversial blockades of companies, has always been

one of Moyano's favorite banners since he led the Truck Drivers

and to a large extent also a key element to explain the consolidation of his power in the union scene.

His strength was also amplified over the years by the offensive that the trucker boss launched to challenge other unions for the representation of workers from the most diverse activities or his ambition to locate leaders aligned with his figure at the head of unions that faced his leadership. .

In this dimension, some unions sought to interpret this Thursday the million-dollar debt that Moyano accumulated with Utedyc: in 2021, within the framework of the process of renewal of authorities in that union, the trucker encouraged an opposition

list that sought to remove Carlos Bonjour from driving union.

Although

Moyano and Bonjour were allies

for years, especially when the trucker was in charge of the CGT leadership,

over time the bond wore out

.

With the management of Hugo and his son Pablo Moyano in Independiente and, after the trucker's frustrated attempt to remove him from the leadership of Utedyc, Bonjour broke all ties and definitively distanced himself from the union world that reports to Moyanism.
