The unions asked to meet Emmanuel Macron

at the Elysee Palace to ask him to withdraw his pension reform;
the President of the Republic replied to them in writing.
A letter made public on Friday in which the Head of State closes the door to their demands, referring to the ongoing parliamentary debate.
"I do not underestimate the dissatisfaction of which you are speaking as the anxieties expressed by many French people worried about never having a pension", assures
Emmanuel Macron in his letter, adding that the time is now for
" parliamentary time”,
after the
“consultations carried out”
by Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne and the adjustments already made to the text.
