"Social prejudice" and "abuse by the judicial system".
These are the main reasons cited by American actress Sharon Stone when referring to the court ruling that
took away custody of her adopted son, Roan
,
after her famous nude scene in the 1992 film
Basic
Instinct
.
Stone, 64, a two-time Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner, said Monday in an interview on the
IHeartRadio Table for Two
podcast
that after the court defeat she suffered physically and emotionally, to the point of having to be admitted to the Mayo Clinic for a heart attack.
During the hearing, the judge handed over custody of the child to her ex-husband Phil Bronstein, now 22, and only gave the actress visitation rights.
“The judge asked my son, my little son: 'Did you know that your mom works in sex movies?'
(...) It was an abuse of the system that my role as a mother was judged because I made that movie, ”Stone recalled, quoted by

Basic Instinct
, a blockbuster that has become a reference film for lovers of the seventh art, was directed by Paul Verhoeven in 1992.
The scene that marked Stone's life and career for better and for worse
takes place when Catherine Tramell, the name of the character she plays—a young detective novel writer and serial killer—is questioned by the police.
At one point during the interrogation, the officers sitting across from her are surprised to see her cross her legs, offering a rather intimate view under her short white dress.
The actress shared the main role in the film with another of the great stars of Hollywood: actor Michael Douglas.
“People now walk around naked on TV, and
from me they saw perhaps less than a second of possible nudity.
However, I lost custody of my son
, ”the actress lamented during the interview.
