Four months ago, a young French couple disappeared one morning without a trace.

The terrible case has France in suspense and in the last hours, the authorities confirmed the discovery of skeletal remains in a local field.

Leslie Hoorelbeke, 22, and Kevin Trompat, 21, had not been seen since the early hours of November 26 in Prahecq, a town of 2,000 inhabitants near Niort.

The couple spent the night at a friend's house, the last one to see them.

They were going to sleep in Prahecq, in a house lent by another friend, who doesn't live there.

The gendarmerie deployed a canine team and after weeks, they were able to find skeletal remains.

Three people were detained, including the apparent friend of the couple where they were going to spend the night.

Leslie's parents, moved.

A self-employed house painter and animal lover, Leslie, a slender, brown-eyed brunette with a tattoo on her right cheek and piercings, is "a little Zebulon, very sociable and smiley, with phenomenal energy," he described her. her mother-in-law, Emilie Cardré, and her father, Patrick Hoorelbeke.

Kevin, a tall, thin man with short brown hair and blue eyes, also tattooed, fond of fishing and hunting and worked in restaurants and markets.

They had been together for three weeks before the disappearance and each had "plans" for the future, according to those around them.

Prosecutors have yet to release a possible motive for the couple's alleged murders.

The suspects are being held in pretrial detention while the investigation continues.

The couple was wanted throughout France.

kidnapping and death

Leslie's relatives don't believe what happened.

"The kidnapping was our conviction from the beginning,"

they say.

"There must be a purpose to this, and aside from money, we don't really see it."

Karine Prat said that her son-in-law had "10,000 euros" on him.

She herself had brought him money - the amount varied - the night of the events in Prahecq, according to her knowledge,

to buy a car.

Leslie and Kevin were found dead.

According to her, in the evening, Kevin had a meeting in the town square.

When the young man returned a few minutes later, she found him upset and reportedly told him that he had passed some suspicious guys in a car.

She then left the couple for dinner at a friend's house.

That friend is precisely the one who has just been arrested along with two accomplices.

Leslie's family is desperate.
