The cross made with the remains of the shipwrecked boat to open the procession of the event "Stop the massacre immediately" promoted by Rete Asilo in Steccato di Cutro where the tragedy occurred which caused 74 confirmed victims and thirty missing persons.
The cross is carried in turn by the demonstrators all along the route.
Meanwhile, the journalists who have been following developments in the story over the past two weeks have decided to participate in today's demonstration wearing a pass that reproduces that of the Afghan journalist Amarkhel Torpekai who died in the shipwreck.
This morning the discovery of the body of a 5 or 6 year old girl, recovered in Steccato di Cutro.
She is the 74th victim of the shipwreck.
The last confirmed young victim of the shipwreck is the 30th minor and the twenty-first in the age group between 0 and 12 years.
