A supervisor of the La Talaudière penitentiary center (Loire) who monetized the introduction of packages was sentenced on the night of Friday to Saturday March 11 to three years in prison, half of which was suspended, by the Saint-Etienne criminal court .
Denouncing the "
seriousness and extent of the acts
" committed by this "
representative of public authority
", the prosecution had requested four years in prison, two of which were suspended.
The 39-year-old man was also sentenced to a permanent ban from public service and the confiscation of his vehicle, an Audi Q3.
The defendant, who was defending himself without a lawyer, admitted that he had "
let himself be led out of kindness to return parcels
", while claiming to have made less profit than the 20,000 euros mentioned in the file.
The wiretaps operated in July and August 2019 revealed the variety of contents of the many bags that this supervisor managed to bring into the establishment without being checked by his colleagues: foodstuffs, game consoles and mobile phones, narcotics and even an inflatable pool.
At the end of the two days of hearing, nine other people (detainees and members of their families) prosecuted for active corruption and violation of the narcotics legislation were sentenced to terms of up to 18 months in prison, for some partly accompanied by a confusion of sentence with previous convictions.
