Two years after his first stint, the 27-year-old singer is trying his luck again in the musical tele-hook of TF1. A paid bet that turned the four chairs around and caused a fierce battle among the coaches.

"The coaches are going to fight!"

exclaimed Cyril after his brother Lummen Nae's stint on Gnarls Barkley's

Crazy

title .

He didn't believe so well.

After a string of compliments from the five captivated coaches, the talented 27-year-old singer provoked a lively debate between Amel Bent and Vianney before the latter managed to convince him with a final gamble.

However, Lummen Nae was far from imagining that he would be at the origin of an unpublished sequence in “The Voice”.

Two years earlier, the artist from Martinique had tried to integrate the musical adventure.

Unfortunately his cover of

Blinding Lights

had not turned any chair.

On the advice of the coaches, Emmanuel, his real name, worked hard to progress and explore his universe made of pop, R'n'B and Afro-Caribbean influences.

If luck smiles on the bold, Lummen Nae has nothing to worry about for the rest of his career.

Why did you decide to try your luck at "The Voice" two years later?

Lummen Nae.

-

Since my first visit, I have motivated myself to work, write songs, take some singing lessons, better deepen my musical universe, sing on open stages… Do whatever it takes to gain experience and try my luck again.

I felt ready.

I took the lead and contacted the production of “The Voice” again.

What memories do you have of your first blind audition?

When the armchairs didn't turn around, I gave up a little.

The more I thought about it, the more the music turned into a painful memory.

In addition, during my visit, the covid prevented us from being accompanied by our loved ones.

I felt alone in the world (laughs).

This time, how did you feel before your passage?

I was very stressed.

I felt this pressure from my previous failure.

What pushed me was having my brother and my cousin by my side.

I had to give everything for them, the coaches and the public.

At that time, even if the chairs hadn't turned around, I wouldn't have had any regrets.

Lummen Nae reconsiders his hesitation to choose his coach

Once on stage, you seem to analyze everything around you.

What do you think ?

Of the few flashes I have left, I remember taking the time to analyze the space, to observe the public and to immerse myself in their faces.

Why did you choose this title of Gnarls Barkley?

I had already performed

Crazy

in a previous competition before “The Voice”.

The feedback was very positive.

I had to sell it to the production who feared that this title would be

“overseen and reviewed”.

I felt that this song highlighted my voice and

"my touch

".

What was your reaction to the first returned chair?

I tried not to let myself be destabilized but I was really relieved.

We were only halfway through my performance, for me, I had already won everything!

Until the end of your performance, the enthusiasm of the judges was unquestionable…

I lived for a moment suspended.

When I heard Oli tell me he thought he was in

“a showcase”,

for me it was the best possible compliment.

I felt like an artist in my own right.

What an incredible memory!

Did you have a coach preference before the show?

My hesitation has always been between Amel Bent and Vianney.

This time with Bigflo and Oli but also Zazie, I was spoiled for choice!

With Amel, we have similar universes and tastes.

But I saw Vianney as a guide into the unknown.

This novelty argument tipped the scales.

Vianney's "outstretched hand

"

caused a lively debate between the coaches.

What is your take on this sequence?

When he came to me, I no longer hesitated.

If Amel Bent had done the same maybe I would have gone to her!

But it's true that with this story of arbitration, we thought we were in a football match.

It was a happy mess (laughs).

“My dearest wish is to share my music with the public”

Lummen Nae thinks about after “The Voice”

What was the return of your loved ones?

My brother is a big fan of “The Voice”, he kept telling me that this never happened.

Beyond this sequence, we celebrated this beginning of the adventure.

I'm really happy to see their pride.

What are your plans for the future?

I compose, I write about personal stories or about other people.

After “The Voice”, I hope to be able to share them with the public, that they will be touched and that my life will take another turn.

This is my dearest wish.
