With a wealth of archives, the University of Angers announced on March 8 the creation of a future museum dedicated to the struggles for women's rights and against gender-related inequalities and discrimination.
It is within the Belle-Beille university library (BU) that the university, in partnership with the AféMuse, the association which campaigns for the creation of a museum of feminisms, that the project will be installed and whose l opening is scheduled for 2027.

The archives of the documentary fund will be compared with works, objects and resources from other institutions.
But also those on museums that now need to be enriched.
For its part, the AféMuse will have to develop the scientific and museographic project.
In addition, the association has planned to raise funds or to ensure the communication of the project.
In a press release, the University of Angers declares that it wants a
"lively and participative place, conducive to meetings and debates."
For the time being, and until the start of the 2027 school year, the library is undergoing modernization work and the creation of exhibition areas.
