The insecurity in this Buenos Aires neighborhood
does not stop despite the police presence
.
Due to the robberies with knives and firearms, the residents of Constitución stopped using handbags and replaced them with bags to run errands.
The neighborhood reference Graciela Bliesenick explained in a dialogue with
Clarín
that they even "snatch the bags before buying. They rob you walking, they run away and are impossible to reach. They take what they can."
In early January, Bliesenick experienced a
dramatic moment
when they attempted to rob her and threatened to kill her.
"The guy put a knife to my neck and on top of that he's from the neighborhood. I know who he is," she recalls.
