However, this was not actually implemented.
Many people in Germany still ask themselves the same question every year in March and October: Does the clock have to be put back or forward?

The time change from winter to summer time falls on March 26, 2023. Central European summer time begins on this day.
So at 2 a.m. the hand must be turned forward by one hour.
March 26th has only 23 hours.
With the time change, it is light longer in the evenings. In the mornings, on the other hand, it stays dark longer.
At the end of October and with the beginning of the winter period, exactly the opposite is the case.
Since we are putting the clock back an hour here, we have an hour more time on this day.
When will the time change be abolished?
The fact that the sleep and biorhythms are disturbed every six months is one of the effects of the time change, which is a thorn in the side of many people.
In 2018 there was an online survey across the EU.
4.6 million people took part.
Finally, 84 percent of the participants spoke out in favor of abolishing the time change.
This should actually be implemented by 2021.
But not much has happened since then.
The countries could not agree on a uniform standard time in the EU.
Consequently, a patchwork quilt threatens.
It may be a while before an agreement is reached.
In October 2022, the presidency among EU countries had not even put the issue of time change on the agenda.
Time change mnemonic: Is the clock going forward or backward?
In 2023, not a few people will be asking themselves whether the clock needs to be put back or forward.
A mnemonic is a help. Once heard, it is quickly noticed:
In summer, garden furniture is placed
in front of
the house - on the terrace or in the garden.
So if we switch to summer time in March, the clock has to be put forward accordingly.
