On video: David Bitan arrived at the court, with the beginning of the evidence phase of his trial (Walla system!)
The ethics committee in the Tel Aviv district today (Sunday) asked the ethics court to impose a NIS 50,000 fine on lawyer Avi Davidov and an 18-month suspension from practicing the profession.
Davidov is the attorney who assisted in the bribery of Knesset member David Bitan, by accompanying two real estate developers who allegedly paid the bribe.
According to sources involved in the management of the case, while the Ethics Committee of the Tel Aviv District sought to impose the punishment on Davidov due to his role as an attorney, the Ethics Committee of the Central District refused to discuss the case of Bitan, who is also an attorney.
This is the highest fine that the committee requests to impose on an attorney, this is beyond the months of suspension expected to be imposed by the Ethics Court.
