We have not yet said 'bye to Purim' and we are already saying hello to Pesach or mainly hello to Pesach cleaning.

It is true that there is still time, but between us as soon as we get into it we will discover that time is short and the work is a lot.

It's true that it starts to get stressful, but a second before you approach the difficult task, get the method of how to approach this challenge smarter and more correctly.

We talked to the cleaning guru on Instagram, Lenor Fahima, who will help us crack how to succeed in Pesach cleaning: how to plan correctly, and what cleaning tips she has for us.

"The earlier we start, the lighter the holiday burden will be. My recommendation is to start with a list of all the things that need to be done, then divide it by rooms and become a task list. That way we can divide the days by tasks. The more days and advance planning we have at our disposal, This way we will be able to take control of the whole house," says Fahima.

Everything possible - clean with the vacuum cleaner.

First of all, some tips:

  • Divide the cleaning into tasks, it will ease the burden and pressures.

  • Work with the vacuum cleaner and its parts at every opportunity.

Rails, drawers, dust, mattresses, sofas, etc.

The vacuum cleaner will do a good, efficient and faster job.

  • Preheat the oven before cleaning it, so the grease will be removed more easily.

  • You don't need a lot of cleaning materials.

You can make your own cleaning materials from natural materials found in your home: window cleaning material: a glass of synthetic vinegar together with a glass of water in a spritzer, will do a great and brilliant job.

Disinfectant: Mix two tablespoons of lemon salt or regular salt, half a cup of water, half a cup of synthetic vinegar and lemon slices together and use.

Grease remover: the magic paste that is also effective in removing stains and limescale.

A quarter cup of dish soap, half a cup of baking soda powder and half a cup of synthetic vinegar.

For faucets: dip a microfiber cleaning cloth in a glass of synthetic vinegar, wrap around the faucet with a rubber band for half an hour while the cloth is soaked in synthetic vinegar, then open and rinse.

Everything went down easily and quickly.

  • Try to keep the cleanliness even during the year, so that when you get to Pesach next year, the work will be less and easier.

When you get to cleaning for Passover, you get a blackout or a slight dizziness.

We are starting to get confused where to start so that we can get everything done in time.

So where to start?

1. Cabinets

This trail starts here.

Neat wardrobe (Photo: ShutterStock)

You know that closet that you shove everything into, even if it's not related to it?

A key drawer that became a coin drawer and other household items that are not really related to this cabinet?

So this is exactly the first cabinet you will start with.

These places that we just pushed unrelated things to, they will take the most time from us, so it's worth starting from them.

When we're done with them, it's worth moving to wardrobes and even starting to organize seasonal transitions.

2. Accessories in the rooms

The recommendation is to look at the room from a bird's eye view - from top to bottom as well as to the sides and start cleaning all the accessories you see.

A lamp, corners of the walls that accumulate all the cobwebs, shelves, chests and the like.

Go through and clean dust, ceiling fans and air conditioners.

Don't forget to open the air conditioner and clean the filter panels that accumulate a lot of dust, dry and return.

3. Living room and dining area

After we have finished the rooms, we will continue with the same method in the other spaces of the house: living room and dining area: vacuum the living room, the carpets, dust.

4. Washing machine

Don't forget to clean the drawer too.

Something we don't get to do a lot, thorough cleaning of the machine.

Procedures:

1. Take out the detergent compartment, apply a general cleaning agent and scrub well.

Then rinse with water.

2. Repeat the same steps also inside the compartment where the drawer returns.

Materials are always spilled there and it leaves dirt.

3. Spray cleaning foam on the rubber, clean well and dry.

4. Go to filter cleaning.

It is recommended to place a towel underneath because some water may come out.

Open the filter and discover the treasures that come out of there.

Clean the filter thoroughly under running water, dry and return.

It is worth not skipping this part because those who have not yet cleaned the washing machine will discover a whole world of dirt and treasures.

in the drain opening of the machine.

5. To finish, put half a cup of synthetic vinegar in the machine and half a cup in the ingredients compartment, and run the machine to clean the scale.

After that, we will move to the dryer:

1. Take out the filter and empty the dirt in it.

Wash it, and vacuum the drum from the inside and go over with a damp cloth for final cleaning.

2. Spray general detergent/vinegar inside the machine and clean with a cloth.

5. Windows

Cleaning the windows requires effort as we will probably climb, sink, spray, wash and put in quite a bit of effort.

This is really not an easy part, but it is highly recommended to leave it for the last week.

6. Kitchen

Save the best for last.

The last part of the planning is the kitchen.

This area is still used by us until close to the holiday for eating and cooking, so we will leave it for the end (about two days before the eve of the holiday).

Before starting any cleaning in the kitchen cabinets, it is recommended to vacuum at first and then go over with a bucket of water and two rags - one wet and one dry and with their help clean each cabinet thoroughly.

Don't forget to also clean the handles and the outside of the kitchen cabinets, of course.

Then we will move to the oven and the stove.

To clean them, you can make an effective cleaning paste at home: a quarter cup of dish soap, half a cup of baking soda powder, and half a cup of synthetic vinegar.

We will mix everything and we will have a natural and wonderful cleaning paste for cleaning the sink, oven and gas.

After that, we will move to the refrigerator.

We will empty its contents and vacuum it as well.

Yes, yes, it is possible and desirable to vacuum all the remaining sesame seeds and small crumbs, just make sure you don't vacuum ice.

We will put all the refrigerator drawers in the bath, scrub, dry and return to the place.

7. Sponge for the finale

Finally, when the whole house is already clean, tidy and organized for Passover, we will do the general cleaning of washing the floor, toilet, shower, and changing the sheets.

All these should be left for the day before the holiday.
