The 2023 electoral calendar began this Sunday in
Río Negro
with the municipal elections that take place from 8 in the morning in
General Roca
, the second most populous city in the province: there are
84,496 people authorized
to vote.
The positions of mayor, councilors and members of the local Court of Accounts will be elected.
There are
11 lists
, an unprecedented number for this city;
although only
six will be candidates for communal chief
.
Mayor
María Emilia Soria
, one of the six candidates for the municipality, will put her re-election at stake with the seal of "
Passion for Rock
".
This structure that was created at the end of last year, when it was confirmed that it could not represent the PJ, from the internal divisions that led the Justicialismo to an agreement with the provincial ruling party.

So there are 11 parties and alliances that compel for the highest position of the municipal Executive Power, eight seats in the Deliberative Council and three spaces in the Court of Accounts.
As reported by the Municipal Electoral Board, there are
33 establishments
enabled to cast the vote, and of the total of 84,496 people who are able to vote, 531 are foreigners.
