Lilibet's secret baptism: Harry and Meghan officially call her princess for the first time

As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have confirmed, their baby daughter Lilibet was christened at their mansion in Montecito.

For the first time they officially called Lili Princess.

Montecito - Everyone had guessed that this ceremony would take place in London.

But Prince Harry (38) and Meghan Markle (41) decided differently.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex christened their 21-month-old daughter in a small and intimate ceremony on March 3 at their Montecito estate.

With 20 to 30 guests, the Sussexes spent the afternoon eating and dancing - Archie (3) would have danced with his little sister Lili (1), as the little one is affectionately called by her parents.

What sounds like a charming private party has official consequences: the two children of the ducal couple will soon receive an update on the royal family's website.

In December 2022, in the final episode of the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, Tyler Perry revealed that he is the godfather of Lilibet, who was born on June 4, 2021 in Santa Barbara, California.

Perry said that Harry and Meghan were "pretty serious on the phone" when they asked if he wanted to be the godparent.

"I said, 'Okay, what's going on?'

They said, 'Well, we want you to be Lili's godfather.'

I said, 'Wow,'" continued Perry, who offered the couple his California home after they left the UK in 2020.

"I had to take a minute to understand that."

Unlike Prince Harry, Lilibet and Archie have only claimed the title since the Queen's death

When Prince Harry and Meghan married in May 2018, the Queen bestowed the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex on them.

Archie was entitled to the title of Earl of Dumbarton at birth in London, a title of nobility without legal significance.

Prince Harry and Meghan never use it when talking about their firstborn.

However, Archie could inherit the Sussex title before he takes over the duchy.

Even Princess Eugenie (32), with whom the Sussexes get along very well and whose son August (2) is considered Lilis' double, was missing.
