Erich Remarque was born in Osnabrück, Germany, on June 22, 1898. He was an 18-year-old student when, in November 1916, he was conscripted into the Imperial German Army.
"All Quiet on the Front"
is based on his story
, the German film competing for an Oscar for "Best Foreign Film" along with Argentina 1985.
Remarque spent about six weeks at the front in the early summer of 1917, before a shrapnel wound sent him to the hospital, and these harrowing memories eventually inspired his book, All Quiet at the Front.
The man on whom the story is based suffered from depression in the decade after the war, and it was not until 1928 that he finally related his malaise to military trauma.

The last preparations for the delivery of the Oscars are advancing.

The 95th edition of the Oscars will be held this Sunday at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles (United States), and will have comedian Jimmy Kimmel as master of ceremonies.
The live broadcast will go through the
TNT channel

streaming platform .
It will begin at 5:00 p.m. local time in the United States, which is equivalent to
