".
He is to be tried for a theft in a meeting in flagrante delicto committed last Thursday in Vénissieux, as well as for the theft and aggravated violence against police officers.
Blows and projectiles
Already convicted of theft, the individual was actively sought: on July 20, 2022, three plainclothes police officers pursued him after the snatching of a necklace, in a street in the working-class district of the 7th arrondissement of Lyon.

As they subdued him, the police were violently attacked by a hostile mob.
They had received blows and projectiles.
Two police officers were injured and the suspect in the theft fled.
A video of this scene of violence had circulated on social networks.
The case had provoked political and controversial reactions, making the Guillotière district a security issue.
“Nothing to do in our country”
Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin welcomed the arrest of a first suspect, under an obligation to leave the territory (OQTF).
Once this suspect was exonerated, he had written, in a second tweet: "
In connection with the events or not, known for many questionings (...), this individual has nothing to do in our country
”.
