Rabbi Pinto, who arrived from Vienna where he spent the last few days, was received with great respect by George Riesman, the husband of Slovakian President Zuzana Czaputova, who came especially to the ancient Jewish cemetery to welcome Rabbi Pinto.

Riesman told the Rebbe about the many years of Slovakia's actions to preserve the Jewish cemetery and in particular to preserve the grave of the "Hatam Sofer" ztzal, who was one of the greatest Jewish leaders in Europe and the chief rabbi of Bratislava between 1807 - 1839. "There is a strong and solid connection

between The Slovaks to the Jews," Riesman told Rabbi Pinto, "a relationship that did not start in recent years but has existed for many, many years. We invest a lot of effort to eradicate anti-Semitism and help the Jews of Slovakia. We also invest very large resources to preserve the Jewish cemeteries and the ancient synagogues," he added .

Rabbi Pinto congratulated Riesman and presented him with the book "Hatam Sofer" in a fancy edition, "May you and the president and all the Slovak people receive a great blessing, peace and security and prosperity," said Rabbi Pinto.
