Serge Grouard was a candidate for the presidency of LR at the Congress held in December, after the resignation of Christian Jacob, which saw the election of Éric Ciotti.
In August 2022, Serge Grouard pleaded for a "

" with the presidential majority of Emmanuel Macron, in a speech where he defended his candidacy for the presidency of the Republicans.
