C, a teacher in her forties, couldn't believe it was happening to her: after a decade and a half of working devotedly as a teacher and coming to class every morning, one day her voice simply disappeared.
The medical experts determined, unequivocally, that C suffers from hoarseness as a result of her work.
Against this background, she filed a lawsuit to recognize her hoarseness as an occupational disease from which she suffers.
However, although the National Insurance recognized C's occupational disease and terminated her disability percentage, it determined that the hoarseness did not cause any decrease in her income.
This, despite the fact that this was explicitly written in the protocols that were placed before him and despite the pay slips that clearly indicated this.

"The hoarseness caused a significant decrease in G's working hours, and as a result led to a damage to her income, once and for all," says attorney Nir Turgeman, who represents the teacher in front of National Insurance.
According to him, although according to the regulations of the National Insurance, C is entitled to an increase in her disability percentage due to the decrease in her income, and although this was explicitly written in the minutes of the medical committee, the claims officer of the National Insurance refused to implement the recommendation that appears in the minutes.
"When I contacted the National Insurance and tried to find out about the issue, I was told in a terse manner that they cannot go back and correct past mistakes," says Attorney Turgeman. "To me, that just sounds wrong.
This means that now C will have to run and file a claim with the Regional Labor Court, spend money and wait at least a year, instead of getting what she already deserves."
