At the annual meeting of the Gaißach fire brigade, Mayor Fadinger criticized the way suspected arsonists were dealt with.

- It was the largest operation for the Gaißach fire brigade in 2022: On June 22nd, a barn near the radio mast burned out completely.
The police investigated six boys from Bad Tölz and Wackersberg between the ages of 15 and 21 who smoked and drank in the barn and had caused the fire.
A teenager also had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance on suspicion of alcohol poisoning.
"What is that sign to society?"
Mayor Stefan Fadinger is angry that the young people were not held accountable, even though property damage of 50,000 euros was incurred at the time.
"You only need to hire a lawyer and you can get away with everything," said Fadinger at the annual meeting of the fire brigade in the Mühle inn.

The financial aspect is not decisive in this case, said Fadinger.
Rather, it annoys him that there is not even a court hearing.
"It would have been the right sign that the young people had to do community service - for example with life support or in geriatric care."
The most costly campaigns by the fire brigade last year were the house collection, which brought in a good 15,000 euros, and the Christmas tree auction.
Here, 10,200 euros in income faced 8,700 euros in expenses.
The cash on hand has therefore grown from around 33,300 euros to a good 45,000 euros within a year, reported cashier Franz Brandhofer.
"It was very labor-intensive, but it was worth it," added Chairman Martin Oswald.
Auction brings a big plus in the fire brigade cash register
At the Christmas tree auction, purchased and donated prizes were hung on branches and auctioned off.
The venue was the gymnasium for the first time, Oswald reported.
For three days, the fire brigade was busy decorating and setting up.
"It worked brutally well," Oswald recalled.
With 280 guests, the event was better attended than ever before.
Christmas tree auctioneer Toni Kell had "completely exhausted himself" so that high prices were achieved.
The fact that the fire brigade did not buy the 500 prizes for the auction and raffle from furniture stores for the first time, but from regional suppliers, has also proven its worth: "It was a lot more work, but the things came at very good prices."
This year, the fire brigade wants to take things a little easier, announced the chairman, "because we can't go full throttle every year".
Instead of an auction, an open day and an information day at the school for the seventh to tenth grades are planned this year: "We will come with a fire engine," announced Oswald.
"The students can then consider whether the fire department would be something for them." Another item on the program is the trip to the western town of Pulman City on October 7th and 8th.
As with almost all fire brigade meetings, the "blackout" was also an issue in Gaißach.
District fire inspector Wolfgang Stahl said he works for a utility company and the impending power failure has been an issue there for three years.
Due to the photovoltaic and solar systems, the fluctuations in electricity production are increasing.
At the same time, fewer and fewer large power plants would be running in the background: "You don't have to worry that the electricity will be gone every week, but it doesn't hurt if communities and aid organizations think about what to do in the event of a power failure.
