The bathroom and the adjoining rooms of the apartment where Pilar M., the president of the Carabanchel neighborhood community, was allegedly murdered on Monday, February 27, were full of blood spatters that will be key to confronting the version of accidental death that Marta C., the accused of the crime, gave in her first statement, according to sources close to the case.

Both women lived on the same landing and had met the day Pilar died to solve some debt problems with the community.

The court has ratified this Monday the provisional prison for the 34-year-old woman for homicide.

The detainee entered the Alcalá Meco prison on Saturday, when she told that the death of her neighbor, who was petite and 68 years old, had occurred in her home, but accidentally.

According to the woman, she was scared when she saw her corpse and decided to get rid of it.

She says that they had met that day to go to a nearby bank branch and clear up some debts that the detainee had with the farm.

When they saw each other, Pilar was in a dressing gown, according to Marta's account, and told her that she was going to change, after which she went to the defendant's house.

When they were both inside her, the woman assures, she hit her head on the sink cabinet, and she affirms that she heard a "click" and that she felt how she exhaled, something that she interpreted as "she had left to breathe”.

At that time, according to his statement, he put it in a gray wheeled suitcase and went to a Lidl to buy cleaning products.

She scrubbed the house conscientiously and left the mop in the house, after which she put the suitcase with the body in a car, went to leave two sets of keys with her landlady and went to her town.

There she spent the next three days trying to get rid of her body, for which she acquired several cans of gasoline on different occasions.

In those days that he spent in her town, she coincided in his comings and goings with some of his relatives, although he assures that at no time did they suspect that anything strange was happening.

In fact, in that three-day period,

She points to a town yard to which her family had keys as the place where she leaned the suitcase against a wall and lit it with gasoline and matches that she had previously taken from her family home.

In that small farm surrounded by walls, the police worked for several days collecting samples and dogs specialized in detecting accelerants moved there.

Later, she dumped the remains in a dump on the outskirts of town.

On the day of her arrest, her landlady warned her that the police had called asking for her, so she decided to return to Madrid, where she was arrested.

Both women lived just a few meters away on the same landing of a building in Carabanchel and had disputes over the payment of some debts to the community, which Pilar had claimed since she took office as president in November.

During all these days, the detainee has been "imperturbable", according to various sources.

The alleged murderer justifies the fact that she had a suitcase with which she was going to move that February and that she intended to settle again in her town of Toledo.

The body is in very poor condition and it is difficult, though not impossible, to draw clear conclusions as to how death occurred.

For this reason, the remains of blood found in several rooms and, above all, the way in which they are distributed, will be crucial to confirm or refute his version of how Pilar died.

The investigation is ongoing and police have yet to investigate several matters.

Whether or not she had help, her movements in the town, what relationship the victim and the alleged perpetrator had... This Monday, the detainee has limited herself to ratifying what she has already declared and has remained silent, after which she has returned to her cell.
