The Internet portal "Jameda" has created a ranking of the best doctors in Germany.
Bavaria is prominently represented - but only in second place.
Nuremberg – The German healthcare system is currently making the headlines regularly – but not exactly with positive news.
Rather, the word crisis usually resonates, we are talking about inadequate coverage in rural areas, long waiting times for patients with health insurance, mediocre supply of medicines and delivery bottlenecks.
But that should not hide the good work of many doctors - and this is exactly what the doctor-patient platform "Jameda" is dedicated to.
The best doctors in Germany were chosen in four categories based on their ratings.
"Jameda" selects the top doctors in Germany: Bavaria in second place
How satisfied are patients with their doctors?
This question was the basis for Jamesa's ranking of doctors.
This was measured on the basis of around three million experience reports on the Internet portal.
It was not just about the number of stars awarded, but also the sheer number of ratings played a role, according to "Jameda" - in order to give the most accurate picture possible.
The ranking is based on the four disciplines most in demand by users: general medicine, gynaecology, gastroenterology and specialist in psychiatry/psychotherapy.
Top 10 Gastroenerologists and Gynecologists
For gastroenterologists (doctors specializing in internal medicine), Bavaria performs the worst.
In the top 10 of the best rated gastroenterologists in Germany, the Free State is represented only once in the "Jameda" ranking - with Dr.
medical
Reinhard Burlefinger from Munich.
Doctors from Baden-Württemberg, Berlin and Hamburg are on the podium.
Bavaria scores best among gynaecologists.
Four representatives from the Free State are among these top 10: In fifth place, Dr.
medical
Jürgen Krieg from Auerbach, in the Upper Palatinate district of Amberg-Sulzbach, followed directly by Prof. Dr.
medical
Tobias Weißenbacher from Gräfelfing, west of Munich.
In seventh place is Dr.
medical
Barbara Böning from Eichenau, district of Fürstenfeldbruck.
And in ninth place again a Munich - Dr.
medical
Thomas Villinger.
Here, too, the Free State misses out on the top three places, which go to Saxony, Hamburg and Frankfurt.

Top 10 General Practitioners and Psychiatrists/Psychotherapists
The only Bavarian place among the top three doctors is in the top 10 of psychiatrists/psychotherapists.
dr
medical
Nikolaus Hock from Munich can be happy about the third place.
Another Munich resident can be found in ninth place in this list – Dr.
medical
Ulrich Rothfelder.
The first two places in this top 10 go to NRW and Berlin.
Two Bavarians made it into the top 10 for general practitioners, but missed the podium.
Seventh place goes to Dr.
Hussan Umari from Nuremberg and tenth place to Dr.
medical
Thomas Kasanmascheff from Erlangen.
First and second place in this list goes to NRW, third place to Hamburg.
Conclusion: A good second place for Bayern in the overall ranking
If you add up all four lists, there are 40 top-rated doctors in Germany.
Nine of them work in Bavaria, which makes for a good second place.
With 14 representatives in the four top 10 lists, North Rhine-Westphalia can be happy about first place.
According to "Jameda", third place, which goes to Hamburg, is a very positive surprise - significantly less populated than Bavaria and NRW, but with seven representatives among the 40 top doctors.
