Beitar Illit mayor Meir Rubinstein today (Monday) ordered Arab passengers to get off buses in the city.

According to him, the instruction is not to allow blue ID card holders to travel on buses either.

"We stopped the buses at the entrance to the city, we dropped off dozens of Palestinians with blue ID cards," he told the ultra-Orthodox media line Hatzat Scopoim.

According to him, the Ministry of Defense and the police approached him about the move.

"I gave them an order to continue with it, and if there are problems they should contact me. I'm ready to be judged for it, let's see these fools."

In an interview on the line, Rubinstein said that he was aware that the move was illegal, and even laughed about it.

"A Palestinian who does not have an Israeli resident identity card cannot enter the city unless he has an entry permit from the army. But if he enters on a bus and the security department drops him off, then the security ministry and the police reprimand us. We are not in exile."

Residents of Beitar Illit were instructed on Thursday evening to lock themselves in their homes for fear of a terrorist infiltrating the city.

This, after an explosive device was found in a bag left on a bus on Ben Zakai Street in the city.

An investigation conducted with the forces in the field revealed that the terrorist boarded the bus on route 226 between Jerusalem and Beit Illit, from one of the last stops in Jerusalem.

When he reached the main street of Beitar Illit, he got off the bus.

A few seconds later the charges began to catch fire, it is not clear whether on purpose or by mistake.

A long time passed until it became clear that it was cargo.

During this time, the terrorist had the opportunity to board one of the buses in the other direction, which pass with a particularly high frequency.

Alarms were activated in the city, and many forces were rushed to the scene, including Dovdevan and the multi-dimensional unit.

More than a year ago, Rubinstein was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the murder of Avi Adri in Jerusalem in 1990, as part of Rabbi Eliezer Berland's "Shubu Benim" community case.

The police believed that Rubinstein's involvement in the murder was partly because he disguised himself as a girl in order to seduce Adri and was also present at the scene of the murder.

The sudden death of Aviram Demati, a key suspect in the murder, led to substantial difficulties in the progress of the investigation and the release of all the suspects.
