work
on the new station
is advanced
and there is already
a clear idea of what it will look like
once finished .
The new station is being built on the branch that connects Ezeiza with Cañuelas and its location is strategic because it will provide a quick transportation option for residents who come to the most important health center in the area for treatment.
It will be a few meters from the Eurnekian hospital, from the first of those two municipalities.
Thus, many will save long bus trips and also the walks from the stops to the health center.
The station is located just one block from the Eurnekian, between La Merced and Santa Angela streets.
The work was tendered in December 2021 but only began a year later.
To give regular users of this Roca diesel branch an idea, the new platforms
will be between the Ezeiza station and the Unión Ferroviaria station,
located 1.6 kilometers from the first and just over 1 kilometer from the second.
Thus, at the same time it will shorten the distance between those stops.
It will obviously bear the name of Eurnekian Station, and the renders that were released with the images of the finished project show that it will have two low
side platforms, 160 meters
long, and that they will have shelters, a ticket office, operational offices, stairs , ramps and SUBE modules with turnstiles for access.
As additional works that are also expected to benefit the neighborhood from an aesthetic and healthy point of view, the
surrounding landscaping
will be carried out and
recreation areas, bike paths, aerobic walks
and the installation of urban equipment will be built.
The idea is that this new point of convergence
generates more movement
and specifically benefits the inhabitants of the La Unión, Villa Golf, La Porteña and Glorias del Deporte neighborhoods, who will have a much more fluid connection with each other and with the rest of the district and the different railway branches.
Although the works had been tendered for more than a year and announced longer ago, the works in the place, specifically, began in December 2022. Currently, the progress, reported the authorities,

% of what was projected
and in the There are 28 workers who built two pedestrian crossings enabled to pass from one side of the train tracks to the other, and a third is being built.
Today, 28 operators work in the future station.

Some versions indicate that it could be completely finished and functional towards the last quarter of this year.
The work had been announced within the framework of the Transportation Modernization Plan promoted by the National Ministry of Transportation, which at the time anticipated the creation of new stations throughout the region and repair works in many existing ones.
Other intermediate stations
Among other announcements, the green light was given to advance current projects that are underway, such as the intermediate stations between Claypole and Ardigó;
between Ezpeleta and Quilmes;
and at Admiral Brown University.
All of them were defined considering the increase in the regional population and the places with the greatest influx of people that required new stops that improve the efficiency of the transport system.
"The stops, which will end the 4.5-kilometer distance between the existing locations, will have 220 meters of raised platforms, ticket office, operational buildings, and it is planned to intervene in the environment to add lighting, sidewalks, and increase security in the region," they announced at that time from Trenes Argentinos.
In this way, it is sought that people do not have to walk so much or avoid having to transfer between train and bus because they do not have stations near their home, work or place of study.
