A woman, placed in police custody for having fatally injured her partner with a knife on Friday evening in Dinan (Côtes-d'Armor), has been indicted for murder and imprisoned, we learned on Monday from the parquet floor of Rennes.
The gendarmes had been called Friday around 9:00 p.m. to intervene at the home of a 28-year-old woman, “
victim of
domestic violence
by her companion
”, said the public prosecutor of Saint-Malo, Fabrice Tremel, in a press release.
Upon their arrival, the gendarmes who had just heard calls for help inside the house "
found that a woman was standing against her at arm's length another woman who was already seriously injured
", explains the prosecutor.
They used a taser to force the attacker to let go of the victim who, despite first aid, died a few minutes later.
She had suffered several injuries, including to the chest, forearm and neck, according to the medical examiner.
Custody
At the end of her police custody, the defendant, born in 1998, was referred to the criminal center of Rennes where she was indicted for "intentional homicide
by spouse or cohabitant
" then placed in pre-trial detention, a told AFP the public prosecutor of Rennes, Philippe Astruc.
According to several witnesses, the victim's 5-year-old son witnessed a first scene of violence.
He had been sheltered by one of the witnesses outside the house and then transported to the pediatric emergency room of the Saint-Malo hospital.
