Tonight, three controversial bills were approved in the first reading - the fortification law, the surrogacy clause and the repeal of the secession law.

The first proposal that was approved, by a majority of 61 supporters against 51 opponents, is the impeachment law, according to which it will be possible to declare a prime minister impeached only by a majority of 90 members of the Knesset or in exceptional cases.

Member of Knesset Yuli Edelstein from the Likud was absent from the vote.

The proposal recently made headlines again, after the judges of the High Court of Justice demanded from the legal advisor to the government Gali Beharev Miara and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to explain why he should not be taken to Netzura, due to the ongoing trial against him.
