The man wanted to ignite his stove with a fire accelerator on Sunday evening, March 12, in Freihung (Amberg-Sulzbach district), the police announced on Monday.
Suddenly, the flame went into the accelerator bottle, causing it to explode.

He was taken to a hospital in a rescue helicopter.
Because of the helicopter, the federal highway 299 between Freihung and Seugast was closed for almost an hour.
