Another legal victory for Mahammad Mirzali.
On Monday, the Nantes court announced the nullity of the proceedings for defamation and public insults targeting the Azeri blogger, a refugee in France and fierce opponent of the political regime of Ilham Aliyez.
A judicial decision motivated by a procedural defect as noted by his lawyer, Me Loïc Cabioch.
“It's very satisfying
, rejoices the latter with Le
Figaro
.
It is already the second procedure of this type against him which is null and void.”

One of those rejected on Monday came from Rovnag Abdullayev, Azerbaijan's deputy economy minister and head of the country's football federation.
This politician, former president of the national oil and gas company of the former Soviet republic, had filed a complaint following videos posted on the dissident's YouTube channel entitled "Made in Azerbaijan".
It has more than 300,000 subscribers.
Five assassination attempts

Le Figaro
devoted a long portrait, calling him "the most threatened Azeri refugee in France", in reference to the five assassination attempts of which he was the victim since his arrival in France, is not over.
“I expect the opposing side to appeal.
I also know that other procedures are in the circuits.
There is at least one in progress for defamation in Paris”
, relates Me Cabioch while denouncing a
“strategy of judicial harassment”
on the part of people with
“unlimited means”

At the same time, French justice is continuing its work concerning the assassination attempts targeting Mahammad Mirzali.
Since the knife attack of which he was the target in March 2021 in the streets of Nantes, a judicial investigation has been opened for attempted murder in an organized gang, death threats, blackmail and participation in a criminal association.
In this context, eight people - all from the Caucasus - have been indicted.
