Neighborhood help Isen-Lengdorf-Pemmering draws a positive balance - new meeting in planning

Isen – About 30 helpers are active in the Isen-Lengdorf-Pemmering neighborhood help.

Head of operations Patrizia Brambring made this clear to over 80 interested people at the annual general meeting in the parish hall of Isen.

More than 3,000 hours were collected, with the main demand being for transport services, care for the elderly, medical aid such as changing bandages and help in the household.

Here, however, the head of operations made it clear once again that help would be happy in an emergency, for example in the event of a short-term illness or in a recovery phase.

"But we're not a permanent cleaning help." Appropriate inquiries would come quite often, but they always have to refuse.

After all, 168 hours came together for the delivery of food.

At the moment, seven lunches are being brought to the house in the congregations.

Behind the numbers are also emotional issues such as terminal care and bereavement talks, Brambring made clear.

She took about 150 hours to do this last year.

The treasury report from treasurer Matthias Brenner gave hope that there could soon be a “Treff” again.

He's already putting money away.

The rooms in the new community center are to be used for this, which are being created as a result of the renovation of the building at St.-Zeno-Platz 3.

Brenner praised the willingness to donate on the part of citizens and companies; the Erdinger Anzeiger's "Light in the Hearts" campaign alone brought in 5,000 euros.

Money that the needy can use, as Mayor Irmgard Hibler emphasized.

She is grateful that she can turn to neighborhood help if she is asked for support - for example, if relatives cannot afford the funeral costs.

Hibler emphasized that this voluntary work is valuable and important, "for the 3000 hours you would need one and a half to two full-time employees".

Chairwoman Gerlinde Sigl reported that the association's activities started up again last year, such as a trip to Reutberg Monastery with a stop at the Klosterstüberl.

In addition, senior citizens' afternoons with coffee, cake and small games were again offered in Isen, Lengdorf and Burgrain.

"There is now a lot of interest again," says Sigl.

These senior afternoons are particularly important to Patrizia Brambring.

She develops many new ideas for this.

In April there will be a kind of mobile phone training course in the afternoon in Isen.

An expert will answer questions about using a smartphone, for example how to move pictures, how to buy a ticket, which apps are important and how to download them.

"But that won't be a strict lecture, we're planning a relaxed get-together over coffee and cake," promised Brambring.
